Exploring by yourself

The rock carving at Lövåsen.

In addition to the activities led by the Vitlycke Museum guides, there is much you can do on your own at the museum and in World Heritage area.

Within the World Heritage area there are approximately 600 rock-carving sites, together containing tens of thousands of images. Four of the sites are provided with parking facilities, footpaths and information boards: Vitlycke, Aspeberget, Litsleby and Fossum.
The Bronze Age farm shows another aspect of the Bronze Age than the rock carvings. Here you can see and experience everyday life.
Join us on a journey through time to the Bronze Age world in Tanum. You get to know some of the contemporary inhabitants in Tanum: Akaz, Alawin, Glicc och Glär - people recreated based on archaeological findings.
The World Heritage Guide acts as your personal tour guide in the landscape. It shows you the way to the four large rock carvings made accessible and contains information specific to the images and the landscape in each place when it suits you - you choose!
Skräddö is a combination of a resting stop, a World Heritage exhibition and a time machine. Here you can learn about the history of the landscape in relation to the rock carvings, travelling practices then and now, and not least the idea behind the World Heritage sites worldwide.
